GRAMMY-nominated duo BONES UK released “Won’t Settle” today with a music video, a collaboration with Mike Shuman of Queens of the Stone Age.
Rooted in the raw energy of classic rock and roll, “Won’t Settle” pulsates with the soul of London’s gritty streets. It’s a sonic rebellion against conformity, a rallying cry for freedom in all its forms, an anthem for those who refuse to compromise, urging us to never settle for anything less than our true desires.
“We banged our brains with Mike Shuman from QOTSA to birth ‘Won’t Settle,’” said BONESUK of the track. “It’s classic rock and roll, and we wanted to take it back to our London roots. It’s about freedom; Not settling, settling down, up or any way around.”
London-bred BONES UK are vocalist/guitarist Rosie Bones and guitarist Carmen Vandenberg, who unapologetically speak their truth and combine the disconnect between the status quo and the glorious world inside their heads through heavy rock riffs and rough-edged electronics.
They released their self-titled debut album in 2019 earning them their first GRAMMY nomination in Best Rock Performance for the highly acclaimed song, “Pretty Waste” and the cover of David Bowie’s “I’m Afraid of Americans,” which accumulated a total of 66M+ streams worldwide to date. The anthemic album magnifies beauty complexity, toxic masculinity and music-scene sexism with empowering lyrics. Rosie and Carmen were free to record the album anywhere in an avant-garde form such as in cars, bathrooms, and basements to capture a specific sound and vision unique to BONES UK.
They’ve appeared on The Howard Stern Show and Late Night with Seth Meyers with accolades from The FADER, Alternative Press, Billboard, Kerrang!, Guitar World, Premier Guitar, Loudwire, NME, and more.
BONES UK have been releasing singles, remixes and touring extensively with Smashing Pumpkins, Bush, Korn, Stone Temple Pilots, Alice In Chains, The Cult, The Struts, Tom Morello, Grandson, and Simple Creatures, to name a few.
