Bristol power trio MOULD announce their signing to 5dB Records (anaiis, Ashaine White)and share intoxicating new single ‘CHUNKS’, arriving today (November 28th).
Marking their first slice of new material since their acclaimed debut EP release last summer, ‘CHUNKS’ showcases the three-man sonic freight train in all their glory, with a shared love for explosive, boundary-bending rock seeing them craft a sound that resonates between post-punk’s raw intensity and alt-rock’s introspective grit.
With widespread support throughout the press community greeting their earlier releases (NME, DIY, Dork, So Young, Clash, The Line Of Best Fit, Rolling Stone UK, Rough Trade, Brooklyn Vegan), as well as sustained support across the BBC 6 Music (Huw Stephens,Amy Lamé) and Radio X (John Kennedy) airwaves, MOULD will be kicking off 2025 with headline shows in both London and their Bristol hometown, with further new material soon to be unleashed.
Speaking ahead of its release, Joe Sherrin explained: “It’s kinda about having a privileged view point and still being bored/unappreciative of what’s in front of you. I wrote it during a monster drive where the scenery didn’t really change out the window for hours. Hence the opening few lines of first verse – it was somewhere between Idaho and Salt Lake City I think, on a tour. We couldn’t decide what to call it so called it ‘CHUNKS’, which was the placeholder title, because of the big chunky ending”.
MOULD’s ‘CHUNKS’ is out now via 5dB Records and available on all digital platforms.
