Irish experimental post-rock instrumentalists And So I Watch You From Afar have announced that they will be performing their forthcoming album ‘Megafauna’ in its entirety at Pelagic Fest this coming weekend.

As the band’s seventh full-length album and their first release through Berlin’s Pelagic Records, the performance will be streamed directly from the 15th Anniversary Edition of Pelagic Fest, taking place across the weekend of 24-25th August at Maastricht, NL’s Muziekgieterij alongside mainstage performances from a host of fellow Pelagic Records artists such as prog-metal trailblazer Ihsahn, Belgian post-metal power-trio Psychonaut and label founders and core team The Ocean (Collective) who are also seizing the opportunity to celebrate the belated 10-year anniversary of their acclaimed 2013 album, ‘Pelagial’ with the original film by Craig Murray (this being the only show of the 4 Pelagial shows on 3 continents!)

As a celebration of the diversity of music and creativity at the heart of Pelagic Records, it was imperative that the festival line up avoided any clashes. The Pelagic Fest day splits have been painstakingly put together so that every artist, from the likes of mysterious Belgian drone-metal collective B R I Q U E V I L L E and the avant -garde eclecticism of Finnish noise-rock duo NYOS through to unmissable headline performances from Pelagic legends IhsahnÅrabrotLLNN and The Ocean Collective can all be seen and enjoyed by every attendee.

Taking place across the two rooms of Maastricht’s Muziekgieterij venue, Pelagic Fest 2024 will be headlined by the labels founders and core team The Ocean (Collective), who will also seize the opportunity for a belated ten year anniversary celebration of their acclaimed 2013 album ‘Pelagial’. Joining them on the bill are special guest headliners: prog-metal trailblazer Ihsahn & new Pelagic signees, Belfast post-rock luminaries And So I Watch You From Afar as well as artists from across the Pelagic roster including Oh HiroshimaA Swarm Of The SunPsychonautLLNNÅrabrot and many more.

Founded in 2009 by post-metal spearheads The Ocean and their Berlin collective, Pelagic Records have gone on to become one of the most important voices in post-rock, post-metal and progressive / left-field heavy music working with the likes of MONOÅrabrotSugar HorseYear of No LightBruit to name just a few. As the label turns fifteen in 2024, they’ve set their sights on establishing Pelagic Fest as an annual event – a regular opportunity to remove barriers and bring their artists & fans together for a true celebration of their music.

With previous Pelagic Fests taking place in Berlin, the label and their festival partners have carefully selected this new location with fans and artists in mind. Located in the heart of the border triangle of Germany, Belgium and The Netherlands, Maastricht is the ideal meeting point for the label, its esteemed roster and legions of fans from around the world.

For those unable to travel to Maastricht, all performances across the weekend will be available to stream at no-cost across the venues & Pelagic’s Youtube channel.

Robin Staps, Founder Pelagic Records said:

“We’re excited to bring Pelagic Fest back this year. I have been looking for the right venue for this in Berlin for years and simply had to accept that it doesn’t exist. Muziekgieterij is an amazing well-wrought place, catering to the needs of both artists and audience — a place that was built to be a venue, planned by acoustic architects and at the same time offers a nice environment to hang out, chat, browse through vinyl distro boxes and chill between the performances. While we‘re beyond stoked that we‘ve managed to put this lineup together, it goes without saying that sadly not every Pelagic artist can play this year… but that leaves something to look forward to for the coming years!”
